Montfort Maritime marks a major milestone with the delivery of its first-ever newbuilding, the Montfort Maritime Jazz (MFM Jazz), a 63,500 DWT Ultramax vessel. Built by Jiangsu Haitong Shipyard, the MFM Jazz is delivered under a long-term time charter. This delivery reiterates Montfort's broader commitment to building a future-ready, eco-conscious fleet aligned with its trading and ESG vision.
The MFM Jazz reflects Montfort's fleet strategy. With a fuel consumption of just 20 tonnes of fuel per day – 20% lower than traditional vessels – the vessel is designed to deliver efficiency, sustainability, and long-term value creation.
The ship’s maiden voyage will soon be underway, carrying a sophisticated general cargo of windmill blades and steel from China to Europe, supporting global infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
This vessel is the first of many. Montfort-branded vessels will become a fixture on global trade routes starting next year, with additional eco-efficient, gas-powered newbuildings joining by end-2026. With MFM Jazz, Montfort takes another confident step toward delivering high-performance shipping aligned with global environmental and economic imperatives.
