LinkedInThe company raises its profile in the global freight market as it continues building a modern, resilient shipping line.
Montfort Maritime, the shipping arm of Montfort, has arranged to acquire Maersk Maru and Maersk Mississippi, two high-quality, Japanese-built medium range (MR) product tankers.
Montfort prides itself in disciplined, cycle aware ownership, and these Japanese MRs present an opportunity where near-term earnings potential and long-term asset value are well-aligned. Both vessels recently completed extensive drydocking and special survey work and are currently positioned in a commercially attractive age segment.
Earlier this year, Montfort structured a deal with Union Maritime for two modern HMD MRs – Tweed (2019) and Witham (2020) – reflecting a consistent approach to securing high-quality assets from selective sellers. With offices across Europe, Africa, and Asia, Montfort’s shipping and trading activities continue to grow in scale, sophistication, and geographic reach.
