The MR C.L.U.B.: A New Chapter in Tanker Pooling

Montfort Maritime, together with ENEOS Oil & Energy Asia Pte. Ltd. as founding cargo partner, prepares to launch a cargo-led commercial platform for medium-range tankers.

June 10, 2026 — Montfort Maritime is preparing to launch the MR C.L.U.B. (Cargo Led Utilization Base), a next-generation commercial platform for medium-range (MR) tankers, developed together with ENEOS Oil & Energy Asia Pte. Ltd. as the founding cargo partner.

The MR C.L.U.B. is built on a simple principle: stronger outcomes emerge when cargo and vessel owners share the same metric of success, maximising the Pool’s Time Charter Equivalent. It is not a replacement for the conventional tanker pool, but an evolution: a platform of mutually aligned interests created for structurally stronger outcomes.

What sets The MR C.L.U.B. apart

• Cargo-led, by design. The platform is anchored by committed cargo flows from its founding cargo partners, with the vessels of the Pool receiving preferred access. Triangulation is engineered upfront, translating into higher laden to ballast ratios and reduced waiting time.
• A platform of mutually aligned interests. Cargo partners hold a direct stake in the Pool's success alongside Montfort Maritime, with all cargoes priced at arm's-length and at fair market value.
• The Alpha Kicker. A performance-based mechanism unique to The MR C.L.U.B. that channels a share of the cargo partners' asset light trading model applied to cargo flows not performed by the pool vessels.
• Transparent, ring-fenced economics. Earnings are distributed through the Pool Point System (PPS) for fair and proportional revenue allocation, with cashflows ring-fenced in a dedicated financial structure for predictability and operational independence.
